Built to keep moving forward.

Our journey

Accelevation was built to solve complex challenges and move quickly when the industry demands it. We rethink what’s possible, adapt as needs change and build the capabilities our customers need next.

That mindset has shaped our growth from an Ohio manufacturing company into an integrated infrastructure partner serving some of the world’s most demanding data center environments. Through every stage, we’ve stayed focused on what got us here: building with purpose, investing in our people and communities, and creating the infrastructure that moves the industry forward.

Built to accelerate innovation

Accelevation was founded by Michael and Shawn Rubiera with a simple but powerful belief: business should create value not only for customers, but also for employees, families and the communities it serves. Drawing from their combined work experiences, they built a company around a philosophy that people matter, local communities matter and the value created by hard work should benefit those who help create it.

From day one, Accelevation was intentionally designed to be different. It was built by builders, for builders. A company where decisions could be made quickly, innovation could thrive and customer challenges could be solved without bureaucracy slowing progress. Speed, innovation and agility were never just business objectives. They became the foundation of how we think, how we act and how we deliver results.

Today, that entrepreneurial spirit continues to define Accelevation. We move with urgency, embrace new ideas and empower our people to make an impact. By staying focused on our employees, customers and communities, we create solutions faster, build stronger relationships and drive lasting value for everyone we serve.

Building the manufacturing foundation

Drawing on Ohio’s rich legacy of manufacturing innovation and skilled trades, Michael and Shawn invested in Southeast Tool & Die and Coach Tool & Die, two small, local companies who had a strong reputation in precision manufacturing, advanced fabrication capabilities and teams committed to continuous improvement. We quickly earned a reputation for delivering highly customized solutions for the automotive, aviation and robotics industries.

This foundation established design and engineering discipline, manufacturing expertise and problem-solving culture that would later enable us to move quickly into new markets and capabilities.

Innovation under pressure

When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted manufacturing across the country, many of our customer projects disappeared almost overnight. At that time, the business was both self-funded and personally guaranteed, which meant that for Michael and Shawn, everything was at risk.

Rather than waiting for business to return, Michael identified an urgent need for custom protective barriers in offices, schools and hospitals. He built the first prototype in his garage and quickly moved the concept into full-scale production.

While many manufacturers faced widespread layoffs, Accelevation kept 100% of its employees working, safely, throughout the pandemic.

The experience reinforced what continues to define Accelevation today: the ability to remain agile, respond quickly and turn unexpected challenges into opportunities.

Entering mission-critical infrastructure

As the need for protective barriers began to wind down, it started to become apparent that the same technology and manufacturing capability that was used to create custom barriers for hospitals, schools and offices, could be transitioned to airflow containment for the data center industry. To attack this new market, Accelevation brought in new business partners including Tim Bankey, arguably the best business development leader within the data center space. We pivoted quickly and landed a major hyperscale customer in the first 30 days.

As we entered the white space market through data center containment, we found that providing tailored solutions, custom engineering and manufacturing expertise allowed customers to deploy infrastructure faster and operate more efficiently. Our ability to customize solutions, respond quickly and execute reliably earned the trust of leading technology companies.

Those customer relationships revealed a broader opportunity: to build a more complete white space platform that could reduce complexity and improve execution from design through installation.

Expanding into structural systems

As data center construction began to migrate from ceiling hung support to floor mounted solutions, Accelevation was one of the first to attack this market by expanding into steel structures. We also added key team members with deep white space engineering, integration and field execution expertise, which was bolstered through the acquisition of Instor.

This expansion moved us closer to our goal of providing customers with a complete white space solution through one integrated partner.

Entering mission-critical power distribution

As AI accelerated demand for data center infrastructure, customers faced growing pressure to deliver more power capacity in less time.

We met this moment with what would become a defining characteristic for the company – responding with speed and fearless innovation. As momentum in the industry shifts, we move with it. When our customers were faced with finding better power solutions, we responded by launching our Branch Circuit Whips business and establishing a new manufacturing operation in less than 60 days.

This marked our first major step into mission-critical power distribution and demonstrated our ability to identify a customer need, build the required capabilities and move from concept to production at exceptional speed.

Expanding our power portfolio

By integrating the talent and expertise of Aura Energy and Earnest Solutions, we rapidly expanded our power capabilities and launched our remote power panel platform.

As AI drove higher rack densities and power demands, we developed and commercialized a 1,200-amp high-density RPP, demonstrating our ability to anticipate emerging customer requirements and rapidly turn complex engineering challenges into scalable, market-ready products.

Strengthening U.S. manufacturing

To support growing customer demand, we opened a 264,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at our First Flight campus in Dayton, Ohio.

We also added welding and structural fabrication capacity in Houston, Mississippi and Memphis, Tennessee, enhancing our ability to scale production, shorten lead times and support larger customer programs.

Leading the modular era

Years of investment across engineering, manufacturing, containment, structural systems, power and field installation culminated in SkyBridge™, our patent-pending, pre-integrated modular infrastructure platform.

SkyBridge™ brings structure, containment, power, cooling and conveyance together in a platform that is designed, manufactured and installed as one integrated system. By reducing field coordination, simplifying construction and compressing deployment timelines, SkyBridge™ gives customers greater speed, efficiency and execution certainty.

Expanding power and modular capacity

As demand for mission-critical infrastructure continued to accelerate, we expanded our First Flight campus with a second manufacturing facility, adding approximately 284,000 square feet of production capacity for modular infrastructure and power solutions.

Together with investments across our national network, Accelevation now operates approximately 1.5 million square feet across the United States, including more than 1.1 million square feet of manufacturing space. This expanded footprint strengthens our ability to scale production, support large customer programs and respond quickly as infrastructure requirements continue to evolve.

Investing in the next generation

From the beginning, Michael and Shawn believed that building a great company also meant creating opportunities for people.

The launch of the Accelevation Academy, our paid, in-house training program, reflects that commitment. By developing talent across welding, manufacturing, electrical work and field installation, the Academy is helping build the skilled workforce needed to support the future of mission-critical infrastructure while giving team members valuable, lifelong skills.
